Carrie Prejean is engaged. The embattled beauty queen, who was dethroned from the Miss California title last year, became engaged over the weekend to St. Louis Rams quarterback Kyle Boller. Carrie’s mother, Francine Coppola, told Access Hollywood on Monday.

According to Francine, Carrie, 22, described the proposal as similar to a scene out of 2004’s romance film “The Notebook,” which starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

Kyle, 28, presented his bride to be with a 5 carat. The couple celebrated their engagement at a Super Bowl party with family and friends in Solana Beach, in Carrie’s native San Diego, Calif. Kyle is also from the West Coast, having grown up in Southern California.

Carrie is “very excited,” her mom told Access.

The two have not yet set a date for their nuptials.
